Why we built this

Consumer DNA testing has made raw genetic data accessible to anyone. Lab results are downloadable from patient portals. Yet the files themselves are filled with variant IDs, rsIDs, reference ranges, and biomarker abbreviations that most people cannot interpret without a biology degree.

Existing tools either oversimplify to the point of being misleading, or require technical expertise most people do not have. Interpretation services exist, but they are expensive, slow, and gated behind physician consultations for information that is educational in nature.

We believe clear, evidence-graded interpretation of your own health data should be available to everyone — not just those who can afford a genetic counsellor or have a biochemistry background. Vogelview is our attempt to build that tool the right way: honest about uncertainty, private by default, and useful from day one.

Our approach

Evidence-based interpretation

Every finding in a Vogelview report is drawn from our curated knowledge base — entries written from peer-reviewed genomics and clinical literature, each tagged with an evidence level (Established, Moderate, Preliminary, or Emerging). We do not use generative AI to write interpretations. Template-driven, rule-based output means no hallucinations and no invented associations.

Honest about what we know (and what we do not)

Genetics is a young science. We tell you the evidence level for every finding. Established variants are replicated across large, diverse studies. Emerging variants may have only a handful of small studies behind them. We show you the difference so you can decide how much weight to give each insight.

Privacy by design

Your DNA and medical data belong to you. We built data isolation, encryption, and user-controlled deletion into the foundation of Vogelview — not as an afterthought. We will never sell your data, share it with insurers, or use it for advertising. See our Privacy page for the full picture.
